Putting this set together is like solving a 3-D puzzle. Younger kids may lack the patience to wade through the directions, which although text free are heavily detailed, meaning some kids may need a little help assembling the set's 44 pieces. The figures look a bit odd and blocky at first glance (except R2-D2, who looks great as a LEGO) but once you get used to them they have an appealing, whimsical charm. If there is one downside, it's that pieces tend to fall off with overly enthusiastic play, but being LEGO, snap right back on. --David Stoesz
